My name is Kathy Nutford (kathy@kijabe.org), and I am a stay-at-home mom. It's gotta be the busiest job there can be, as well as one of the most important! Let me share some of my online life with you!
I grew up in Kenya, where my parents were, and still are, missionaries, and attended Rift Valley Academy, where I had some of the best years of my life. At age 18, I left home to return to my passport country, Canada. The next 6 years were taken up fitting in 5 years of college, first at New Brunswick Bible Institute, and then another 2 years at Briercrest Bible College, where I studied music. There was also a year off in there, where I did little, but got to know myself a bit better.
During the next year, I managed to do the obligatory stint at a fast food joint, worked for a photographer, and met and married my husband, John.
Now my days are taken up with caring for, and homeschooling, our 3 children. I teach several piano students (all those years at college were not wasted!) on a weekly basis, and I'm also involved with the ladies group at church.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time on the internet, and cross-stitching, knitting, folk-art painting, stenciling, rubber stamping - well, you get the idea!
My experience growing up in Kenya has given me a somewhat unique perspective on life, I like to think. I hope to pass some of that on to my kids, as I spend my days working through math, language arts, science, and other school subjects.
